Many of the Jemez Pueblo's ancestral lands are located within the Santa Fe National Forest.
The Pueblo of Jemez and the U.S. Forest Service have established
a cooperative partnership to monitor management, care, preservation
and respect for these ancestral grounds. A full time Jemez District
Forest Service Representative is stationed at the Walatowa Visitor
Center to answer questions and assist with the following:
- Jemez District Recreation Information and Handouts Year Around
- Local Travel Information
- Forest Road Conditions/Closure Updates
- Santa Fe National Forest Maps
- Fire Wood and Latilla Cutting Permits (May - Dec.)
- Tree Transplant Permits (May - Dec.)
- Christmas Tree Cutting/Digging Permits (Thanksgiving-Christmas Eve)
- Golden Eagle, Golden Age and Golden Access Passport Issuance
